The Bet365 boss, Denise Coates has earned a whopping £469m in a single year! It is one of the biggest pay packets in UK corporate history!
The company said the arrangements were “appropriate and fair”, despite sales falling at the firm last year.
The campaign group the High Pay Centre said it was “appallingly inefficient for single individuals to hoard wealth in this way”.
Her salary in the year to March was more than 50% higher than the £277m she received in 2019 and means that she earned almost £1.2m every day last year!
It came as sales at Bet365 fell by more than 8% to £2.8bn, profits slumped 74% to £194.7m.
It goes to show the huge divide in pay compared to the 2 million Brits that also received a pay increase today…The new rate for the National Living Wage includes 23 and 24-year old workers for the first time and equates to an extra £345 annually for full-time employees.
The increases will see workers aged 23 and over entitled to £8.91 an hour from a previous £8.72.
